Ofer Zimmerman, MD, Allergist and Immunologist and Instructor in Medicine, will begin a collaborative clinic with Infectious Disease at 620 South Taylor Ave., Suite 100 beginning August 31, 2021.
This collaborative clinic will focus on patients with immunological disorders, including: recurrent infections, recurrent pneumonia, mycobacterial infections (lung or invasive), low antibody levels, immunodeficiency, and autoimmunity.
Zimmerman has completed a fellowship in Infectious Disease in the Unit of Infectious Disease at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Washington University in St Louis.
Zimmerman’s research interests include genetic susceptibility to infectious diseases, host-pathogen interaction and primary immunodeficiency disorders. Through his research, Zimmerman hopes to identify why particular infections pose a greater risk for some patients but not others.
